Answering Machine does not answer

Question:

My answering machine does not answer on incoming calls, what can I do?


Answer:

  1. Make sure answering machine is on.
  2. If you have Voice Mail service, it is possible that the voice mail is picking up the call before the answering machine.
  3. Make sure there are no other answering machine units operating on the same line, if so turn one of them off.
  4. Make sure the unit is plugged straight to the wall and not on a surge protector.
  5. Remove any other equipment from the unit, i.e. Caller ID Boxes.
  6. Move the unit to different locations in the home or test it in a different residence. 
  7. If there is no change, we recommend the unit be sent in for repair.
  8. If possible try testing th phone on a totally different phone line (friends or neighbors) to check if the same problem continues.
