What's the difference between cancel and unsubscribe?

Question:

What's the difference between cancel and unsubscribe?

Answer:

Canceling your account means that you will no longer be able to access any services, including emails and your Personal Forecast page (see directions below).

Unsubscribing means turning off email, but still keeping your account active so you keep your Personal Forecast page (see directions below).

If you wish to discontinue using the personal forecast service, simply go to your personal forecast web page and click on the "Cancel" link at the very bottom of the page.

If you want to turn off your email but keep the forecast web page, go to the Service Checklist on your Personal Forecast Page, click on the Email Weather Updates and Severe Weather Bulletins check boxes to change your email preferences.

To reduce the number of severe weather email messages you are receiving, choose fewer counties or severe weather warning types under your severe weather settings in section two on your settings page.
